By Steve Raymond
(2011)
The summer's joy brings with it warmth and sun.
It's jovial fun and prime suffice to all.
Yet, as it seems the peak had just begun,
The Summer's soul now passes on to fall.
Fall's faint descending dyes the solstice gray
While weather does wail throughout the day,
But winter's perish orders Fall to hush.
White winter's blanket suffocates all life.
Its hands bring frigid cold and bitter death
To terminate what does remain with strife;
To smother what is left of nature's breath.
But Spring appears, and winter's woe must fade;
A new beginning there is to be made.
