Hey there! My name is Sheyenne and I’m a sophomore.
I’m not your typical artist: creating crazy characters from my imagination,
drawing complex worlds, or doodling on any scrap piece of paper one can find.
I’m an observer. I analyze the world, its colors, its shapes, its patterns, and
channel what I see through my pencil or paintbrush. In all my creations I strive
to include bold colors and fine details. My favorite medium to create with is
oil pastels. Pastels blend beautifully and are wonderful for adding texture.
Reader, I will warn you that water colors are dangerous creatures! They fool
you with their pretty colors, only to run all over your canvas in a muddy mess.
Currently, my favorite subject matter is landscapes. Nature is never perfect,
and in my eyes its imperfection is what makes it so beautiful. My greatest
struggle in art is creating people. I have trouble with the forms of figures
and making it look like, well, a person. In the future I plan to take sculpture
and photography and later advanced art. If I have any advice for you, it would
be to TAKE AN ART CLASS! Trust me, it’s a good time. I would like to thank the
Literary Magazine Team for nominating me as Artist of the Month (you guys
rock!) and Mrs. Donovan for her awesome training. Enjoy!
