Hi guys, I’m Jack. I’ve loved drawing since I was three. After drawing enough stick figures and racecars, I eventually realized that art was something both that I was good at and that I really enjoyed doing. Art class is still my favorite for a few good reasons. Art is relaxing, and a great way to express yourself. I’m inspired by a bunch of other people- other artists, friends, and, of course, Mrs. Boyle. While I don’t usually use references, I’ve tried out a bunch of different styles and techniques. Graphite is definitely my favorite medium, but sometimes I also use oil paints, watercolors, or ink.
Anyway, going from an idea in a sketchbook to a finished work can be unbelievably satisfying. My favorite thing to draw is probably buildings, although anything that isn’t alive usually comes out okay. I would definitely rather draw a mountain than a dog. Not that I have anything against dogs, but landscapes are easier. Besides drawing, I also do theater (as long as it's not a musical), and even sleep occasionally. In my free time, I hike and sometimes even read if I’m feeling particularly motivated. Anyway, in conclusion, I’d like to thank Mrs. Boyle for being cool, and my family and friends for their support. I hope you enjoy my art!
