My name is Isobel (Liu) Daniels-Campbell and I am a sophomore attending the Drawing and Painting and Sculpture classes. My daily life includes writing, drawing and painting on canvas and paper alike, digital work and working with clay and wire. At home, I have two cats that I love dearly, giving me my inspiration and motivation to work through the day, my parents who support me through whatever I do, be it art wise or choice of life wise, and my studio space where I produce my creations. Music is a constant source of ongoing inspiration for me, unlocking a lot of the emotion in my work as I also play the guitar, the mandolin, the ukelele, and the djembe (drum). I have been creating drawings and sculptures since three, first starting with little paper things and crayon doodles to markers, to playdough, to pencils, to charcoal and so on until now, where my favourite medium of work is watercolors and modeling clay/artist's wax. My style of art and my goal is to portray a sense of powerful emotion in my pieces, such as elegance, courage, and power in epic proportions, even with a hint of creepiness. My style ranges from my favorite “manga” style, or Japanese comic-book style to my own semi-realistic fantasy (surrealism) style, or even a cartoony type when expressing a sense of humor and whimsy.
